Thanks for posting the recipe for Xacuti masala. I would always buy it from masala stores on my trips to Goa or depended upon my relatives to give me some. Now I can make my own masala. Thanks once again.

Fantastic…. Xacuti is my all-time fav Goan curry.
Alves, pls let me know how to make the curry (mutton or beef) using this powdered masala. I have seen your recipe for Mutton Xacuti, but got confused cause the masala in that recipe is freshly made.
    Thanx….

      Hello Neil,

if you are making chicken xacuti then first apply ginger garlic paste. after you sauté the onion and tomatoes add the chicken followed by xacuti masala ground but for mutton you have to boil the meat first after applying ginger and garlic paste (see mutton xacuti recipe). Now for both mutton and chicken xacuti use 4 tablespoon of this masala powder (per KG) to one grated and roasted coconut along with one roasted onion. ( tip : add one Kashmiri chili deseeded per tablespoon of xacuti powder used while grinding)

      cheers
