Ghotache Sasum / Saasav (with Recheado masala)

Tangy Mango curry

9 small ripe mangoes (ghota)

1 tablespoon oil

1 ½ tablespoon recheado masala

½ teaspoon mustard seeds

5 crushed garlic pieces

½ inch ginger crushed

2 green chilies finely chopped

1 tablespoon chili powder

2 sprigs of curry leaves

1 large onion chopped

½ teaspoon sugar

1 ½ cup of water

Salt to taste

Pre- preparation:

  1. Peel the mangoes
  2. Crush the ginger and garlic
  3. Chop the onion and chilies

1. Take a mixing bowl add the peeled mangoes.

2. Marinate the mangoes with rechardo masala, ginger, garlic, sugar, chili powder, and green chilies set this aside for 20 / 30 minutes.

3. Heat oil in a Kadai / wok, add the mustard seeds as they start to crackle add the curry leaves.

4. Now add the onion and sauté till they turn translucent.

5. Add the marinated mangoes to the kadai / wok along with water.

6. Cook till the gravy becomes thick.

7. Check salt to taste.
